Darky has been called after his Dad and he he is very similar as they both have the same fighting spirit and bright chestnut coat. Darky is fast, very fast and his TB half is probably the bigger half if I had to choose. However, he has many typical haflinger characterisitics and has strong legs, well-built muscles and a patient, loving temperament. He will probably grow up to be an eventing champion as he has thouroughbred grace and speed, haflinger paces, stamina and strength and is a perfect all-round horse. He also has hunted and from his enjoyment, we are convinced he will be a good hunter as he matures. He is a fantastic jumper and has already done 4' when he has been loose-schooled and he will probably go higher as he matures.

In the stable, Darky's haflinger side shows - he is very patient and loving and he is one of the greediest horses around. He is slightly strong however and very energetic from both breeding and youth. He needs somebody strong to hold him as he can be very difficult if he sees a mare. He is very excitable and we don't want to breed him to young as this might make him uncontrollable if he knows about mares. However, in the future we hope to see him with lots of foals and we are sure he will pass on hardiness to other fine breeds - he will also be a perfect cross with a TB to make a perfect all-round ¾ TB ¼ Haflinger, just like him, but faster..........
