Tuesday is a lovely pony to know, as she has a very friendly personality and is extremely talented. Her name comes from an ancient nursery rhyme where one line is 'Tuesday's child is full of grace' and I when I saw this beautiful pony, I knew I had found the one name to describe her. Tuesday has very looong legs and a short back which makes her look very graceful. As well as this, her looks, movement and prescence are all fantastic.
When I went out looking for a horse, the idea was I got a pony hunter/jumper for my little sister to ride. I was looking around and I heard about a haflinger and thought she would make a good broodmare. I spent my pony hunter money on her and I never thought twice. When I got her, her name was "Heinz" as she was bought in an auction wearing #57. I needed a better name than that for her, so I thought, and thought, and thought. I had no ideas !!! I was schooling her the next day and she had sum real potential in her as a dressage pony, and was so elegant we were going to call her 'Grace'. But she needed an individual name, something different. That night, I was reading my sister a book and that poem was in it. Thus, the name 'Tuesdays Child' was formed. Tuesday is a lovely mare, but she has the tendancy to get a bit lazy sometimes which can be a problem. We try to feed her up and keep as much weight of her as we can though and in time, she is getting better. She still has quite a novice outline, but she is on the bit and her forehand is slowly getting lighter and she is creating more impulsion than ever before. She is also fantastic to work with in the stable and literally goes to sleep while you are grooming her - she is so lazy. |
