Woodcroft Alex is one of my foundation haflinger stallions. He is beautiful to look at, really striking with his liver chestnut coat and his almost pink mane and tail. His conformation is outstanding, almost unfaultable and he has the ability to pass these on to his offspring who almost all go on to be succesful in many disciplines. Alex is, in short an amazing example of the haflinger breed.
Alex holds a lot of promise and his show record is growing (see below). He has a lot of promise in showing, and he manages small jumps easily, but he looks like he is going to be a dressage champion. His paces flow and he has a near-perfect outline when he is going at his best. His jaw is soft and supple and his back end is right underneath him, creating impulsion that leads to impressive extensions. Alex is a true all-rounder and a pleaseure to work with and ride.
When it comes to temperament, Alex is great there, too. He is very eager and willing, and although he is very lively and always wants to be one step ahead, he is very intelligent and independant. He is full of nervous energy and sometimes finds it difficult to stand still. Alex is very energetic and full of health and life as he is a fit stallion in his prime.
