| The third barn is the supervision Barn. There is enough room for 10 horses, but we very rarely need that much room. This barn is used when we have a mare in the last month of foal or we have an ill or sick horse. The stables are very large - 25ft x 25ft which makes room for broodmares and foals. It is also useful to have large boxes incase a horse colics and rolls. The walls and floors are rubber matted with a very thick, banked, shavings bed, so ill horses can lie down comfortably. Each stall has a sound-proof wall and some barred windows fitted with double glazed, safety glass. This is to try and keep everything very quiet if the horses are sick, as their hearing might be affected. None of the stables have automatic waterers, so we can monitor how much the horse is drinking. The ventilation is especially good in this barn, because we think a horse needs fresh air to get better. The barn is conveniently close to the grooms house and the AI laboratory incase there is an emergency. There is also a phone and a fax machine incase we need to call the vet urgently.
Horses come and go into this barn, but here are some of the more recent visitors, with a reason why they came.
