Nottingham (EASC)

What can I say about this stallion that hasn't already been said. Notty is among the elite of EF in looks, personality, talent and show record. His first foal went on to be a CCh while she was still a yearling; she is currently a WCh and has nearly reached hall of fame standard (one of the few horses to get in who has been sired by a hall of fame stallion in EF). He is the nearest any horse has ever got to being an extreme horse (less than 500 points right now) and has been approved by the EAS as a top sire. It is easy to see why Notty has done so well, he has top bloodlines, is probably one of the best 'put together' ponies around and has been carefully trained and shown to the best of his ability.

In the show ring, Notty has been there and done it all. He is a very successful large pony and adult amateur hunter, and has recently begun showing pony level combined training very well - he has the muscular build and high training to do well in the dressage ring and the speed and talent for the jumping sections. However, his speciality is large pony hunter and there have been only a few occasions when he hasn't been in the ribbons. At his former home, he was ridden by an adult and this season he is showing with a junior on his back. But steady Notty has the experience and we have high hopes that this pony will soon reach the extreme level of points - the second greatest honour in EF. If he does this, he will be the first horse in the history of EF to acheive this great honour and he was the highest pointed horse in EF before the re-start.

But show experience isn't everything, Notty is also really well-behaved in the stable. He isn't perfect, you need to be strong to handle him as he can be very bolshy, but he has quite good manners. However, he can be very strong and you have to be careful he doesn't barge through stable doors like he sometimes does. He also throws his head and complains more than the other horses if he doesn't get fed immediately and he likes to be first out of his stable and into the field when he is turned out in the morning. Basically, Notty has a will to in and be first and that's great - we love him just the way he is.
