Britannia

Although Britannia isn't actually stabled at Woodcroft Pony Stud for the most part, she has the occasional rest month when she comes and lets her hair down at the stud. Britannia is my first racehorse and believe me, if you have a good sense of humour it is probably worth coming to this page for the next couple of months while I try to learn more about the world of racing through a dazzling chestnut filly.

Well, it says born to race on her registration details and Britannia certainly is. This is an experiment and I am not going to become a serious racehorse owner, but it gives me an added interest and the idea is I learn some more about a sport which I have always wanted to learn about (hopefully). Anyway, for at least the next year I am going to be making a fool of myself because I will be an idiot in racing, so it is worth checking this page out.

Britannia really is a lovely filly, but a lot fizzier than any of the shetlands. She is very trusting and willing as well as been eager to learn and I would say I think she'll go far, but quite honestly I don't have a clue if it's good that racehorses are like that *g*

Racing Record
3rd in her maiden at the La Canada Classic Racecourse. Here's the race report:

All horses took the field ready to go. Britanna put up a little fight loading into the gates, but finally loaded. When the gates opened Seattle's Silver Moonlight broke into the lead. Britannia followed closely with Call Nine One One hot in pursuit. Call Nine One One gains ground quickly and passes Britannia as the flash under the wire.
